A Nursery of Trees to Help Us Breathe
The RSPB have been growing trees in the Haweswater area for around 30 years, with Naddle Farm having its own tree nursery. One of the major species that is grown is Juniper, which is an essential food source for many different birds and other wildlife. They have now been given funding to expand their nursery, which means more trees like Juniper, Holly, and Oak will be grown for many more years to come. Encouraging the growth of new trees is essential in our fight against climate change, as trees are able to take in carbon, convert it into oxygen, and release it back into the atmosphere!
